Includes accommodation in a Cardrona or Clutha room at Riverrun lodge, Wanaka for 3 nights, breakfasts, evening appetisers and dinner on one night of your stay, and scenic flight from Wanaka traversing the Southen Alps, past Mt Aspiring to the wilderness of the West Coast and down the coastline to Milford Sound. There you will join a 2 hour cruise on the Sound before flying back to Wanaka. Morning flights are advised for the best conditions. The flight to Milford Sound is as impressive as the Sound itself. Half day trip, taking approx 4 hours from departure to arrival back at Wanaka airport.

This package includes 3 nights accommodation and two half day excursions which can be taken on two separate days or the same day; a half day guided trip by boat half-way up the length of Lake Wanaka to Mou Waho Island and a half-day guided kayaking trip on the Clutha river. The first is slower-paced, the second is more challenging. The island serves as a sanctuary and wildlife on the island includes Buff Weka, N.Z Falcon, Wood Pigeon, Bellbird, Fantail, Wax Eye, Greywarbler, occasional Kaka and Geko Lizards. We recommend the the morning departure.
The Clutha is New Zealand's biggest river, it is, however, relatively easy to kayak. Alpine River Guides are a small dedicated team of kayak lovers. The accent is on fun and enjoyment as well as learning and kayak safety. All the kayak river guides are qualified professionals and are expert at guiding beginners through to experienced kayakers. Trips run morning and afternoon and last approximately 4 1/2 hours. Kayaks and full equipment provided.

Four nights accommodation and dinner at the lodge on one night of your stay, pre-dinner appetisers every night and sumptuous breakfasts each morning. Your package also includes one half day and two full day excursions; Milford Sound, the Rob Roy Glacier hike and Siberia Experience. The Milford Sound Excursion is a half day trip which includes a scenic flight over the Southern Alps and down the West Coast to Milford Sound for a cruise on the Sound. The Rob Roy Glacier hike is unguided but your hosts will provide you with directions and sandwiches. This is one of Wanaka's best 3-4 hour hikes and a popular one. The Siberia Experience is another full day trip. A 25 minute scenic flight, landing in the remote Siberia Valley, a 2-3 hour hike and then jetboat ride back along the braided Wilkin river. Good fitness advised for this package.
